Dunsop Bridge

Dunsop Bridge, Forest of Bowland, Lancashire.

Dunsop Bridge carries the main road from Whitewell over the River Dunsop as you enter the village of its name.

Approaching Dunsop Bridge from Whitewell on the main Whitewell to Dunsop Brige road.

The bridge is made of sandstone ashlar (Ashlar is finely dressed, cut and worked stone), and consists of a single segmental arch with a string course and a solid rounded parapet.

As you travel over Dunsop Bridge you are immediately in the Village of Dunsop Bridge. Dunsop Bridge Village is the geographical centre of England.
