St Michael’s Church

St Michael’s Church, Whitewell, Forest of Bowland.

The current St Michael’s Church Whitewell replaced an earlier church on the site, and the chancel was added in 1896.

The church is in rendered stone with sandstone dressings with a slate roof, and consists of a nave, a chancel, a south porch and a north vestry.

There is a bellcote on the west gable and a cross on the apex of the right gable. The porch contains a doorway with a chamfered surround and a four-centred head.
