The Church of St. John the Evangelist is a rural Anglican Church which stands on the western side of Hurst Green, was built on land donated by the Fenton family, of pioneering photography fame in 1838. |

Just past St John The Evangelist Church towards the village centre the main B6245 road dips down and to the left hand side of the road there are some lovely village cottages as seen in the slideshow above. |

![]() Right in the centre of the village of Hurst Green opposite the war memorials is the Shireburn Arms the main public house of the village. The building is in sandstone and has two storeys. ![]() The hotel has a slate roof and five bays, and contains sash windows, and a doorway that has a plain surround and a semicircular head with a keystone. ![]() There is a local bus service that runs regularly through Hurst Green Village between Chipping Village and Clitheroe. |

![]() In the 1970s the village had three shops, but all of these have now closed over the last few years. ![]() However since 2021 there is a village cafe called Millie’s which is open from Tuesday-Sunday which provides meals and has a small grocery section. |

Situated near the village Green are two distinctive war memorials to the Boar War and First and Second World Wars bearing the names of soldiers from the area who died. |

![]() At the opposite side of the village green to the war memorials stands St Peter’s Guild Club, a Catholic social club which has existed for well over 200 years. |
